After starting my blog, iamArtsy.com, I quickly drew my focus onto promoting the sale of art directly from the artists themselves. Many people think they can’t be collectors because they can’t afford it, but little do they realize that there are many affordable art pieces for sale directly from the artists themselves. This not only helps the artists to survive as a full time artists, but also benefits the buyer to have an original piece rather then an Ikea knock off. I took it a step further by developing one-of-a-kind art pieces that could be worn by the art enthusiast every day. Since they are one-of-a-kind, they can also start their own small & affordable art collection. A piece they can show off to their friends.

“Music is Life” is the concept that without music there would be no life. Music is a fundamental part of every single human. Music brings people together, makes them emotional stronger and happier. Music is something each person can relate too, so I took the visual aspect of music (record album covers) and placed different parts together to visualize how different people (like different genres of music) come together to celebrate the unique collection of sounds. Thus “Music is Life”.

Discommunication: The disconnect act of communication.

For the 2010 MOCA-GA Pin Up Show, I wanted to create a piece that was intricate in every detail, but more importantly a piece with a well developed concept that a whole society could connect too. I also wanted to break the idea of a wall hanging artpiece, and developed a process to make the art come alive. I created my very first flexible-art piece, a piece that allows the owner to change the viewpoint at any time they please. Therefore their art piece is more then just an investment for their collection, but truly a living artful form within itself. A Way of Life – Nashville SuperSpeedway, TN, 2009

These are photos I took at the second annual drift event called “Drift Mechaniks Gossip Girl Marathon and Some Drifting”, better known as DMGGMASD. I took all these photos with my 35mm Nikon N90. I enjoy capturing the moments as they happen, rather then creating an illusion that doesn’t exist. Shooting with a 35mm camera has thought me patients and also trained my eye to capture the image at first shot. I continue shooting with my 35mm to get a better understanding of lighting and composition.

Grayscale Life, 2009 – Experimental

My love for vintage cameras started with the Kodak Tourist, my first medium format folding camera. Even though I enjoyed the camera, it didn’t seem to work properly, so I quickly moved over to a Kodak Brownie. The Brownie was one of Kodak’s first camera designs, where you literally point and shoot. No f-stop, or focus ring, just hold the camera waist high, look through a little distorted window, and hope you get something amazing. My Brownie did just that! Since the camera originally uses 620 film, when i was using 120 film, I could never tell where I was positioned on the film strip. I took probably 4 pictures, before the film finally started to form my picture with little E.T. I did not realize that you had to be a certain distance from a subject to have it be in focus, so some of the pictures are blurry, but that blurriness adds to the warm dreamlike feeling these photos creates. I can’t wait to take more photos with this little camera. I love experimenting with vintage items.

These are photos I took specifically for my portfolio book. I took all these photos with my 35mm Nikon N90. I enjoy vintage items, not only because it has history, but because it helps me better learn and understand modern technology of today.
