This is my first animation created with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and ImageReady. It was for a project for my computer class, and the object was the create an animation of your favorite character, which is this case was my boyfriend, Andy Sapp. :) hehe

My lastest art piece is my most exciting, for he is the cutest little thing. Therefore, I call him “Buddy”. :)

Buddy is upcycled from my old American Eagle jeans, thread, buttons, and feathered fluffy hair. Buddy likes Rock & Roll music and being an ornery fellow. He has a big heart, but a little foot. He has one eye bigger then the other and fluffy hair like none other, but that will never get in the way of his charming smile. Buddy is the first out of many more Jean Buddies to come. I’m planning on creating these not just for fun, but also to sell on Etsy.com, to help raise money to pay off my school loans. I think these Jean Buddies will be a fun little toy, but also a collector’s item.

The great thing we can learn from Buddy is that noone is perfect. Each imperfection in our bodies is what makes us unique! It’s like they say, “You can’t love others, until you learn to love yourself”. Such an important lesson for all of us to learn, to truly love ourselves for who we are, and not what we are.

I really like this picture alot. My sister didn’t understand the touch screen camera button and kept moving the phone around. ;) hehe It looks rad though!

This is a video I made for the SCAD Inspire ‘09, 9×90 competition. The Savannah Campus did not inform the ATL campus about the competition until the day of the deadline. (Great!) But I was determined to get the chance to enter my work, and created this video in one day! It was very difficult with the time constraint, but I think it’s hilarious and brings the point across. I’m very happy with it, but I will definitely go back and fix my audio problems with it another day. :)

Shepard Fairey is featured on USANetwork.com as the 2009 Winner of USA Character Approved. Shepard Fairey started off with his “OBEY” image that he would stencil, and slap all over his neighborhood. His work became iconic for skaters and graffiti artists everywhere. He is one of the few artist that makes a living out of stencil art. A very detailed and time consuming technique that, once created, can be used many times again. Thus allows for versatility and mass production of one’s art; a well known practice by pioneer artist, Andy Warhol.

Fairey is now best known for his Obama poster, “Hope”. I see one of these pictures slapped on the back of a car almost every day, but many don’t know the artist behind the famous work. That’s why I am very proud that USA picked him at the 2009 Winner, so that everyone can match the famous piece to a name. Many pieces become famous, but often the artist is left in the dark.

Fairey has many items for sale on his website. Some of these items includes original Fine Art works, stickers, books, stencils, buttons and more.

Fairey also has his own clothing lined called, “Obey“. Among some of the items are skateboards, purses, pins, sweatshirts, hats and more.

I made this video for a class using the incredible footage shot by Will Roegge. (Thanks Will!) I will eventually finish it, and make a faster edit, but for now, I’m still reminiscing the wonderful time we had. I can’t wait to go back, how about u?

It’s official! Today I filled out and mailed my GA voter registration information, so I’ll be able to vote for the next President of the United States of America. It is such a fulfilling feeling to finally have a say in the every day matters that effect my life. I can’t wait to vote! I just wished everyone else could see how important it is as well.
